Competition Research
Competition research. Purposely and perfectly ambiguous. Today, I decided to spend less time developing and administering my Drupal site and more time researching the anatomy of a business plan competition.
I must have browsed hundreds of websites and downloaded hundreds of Adobe PDF, Word documents, Powerpoint presentations, text files, and copied and pasted web content from numerous sites. Altogether, I have gathered perhaps the largest stash of business plan competition information every known to man or woman... or animal. No other person, beast, or thing alive or dead can match my ambition to become a business plan competition expert.
Over the next few weeks, I will plan to sort through this information. In reality, I'll probably do it all this weekend. Already, I can see many similarities and common practices among the competitions. Furthermore, the information will give me insight on how to structure some of the content types that I have already set up. Finally, I will have a LOT of material for my proposed entrepreneurship workshops which is good. One of my biggest fears -- other than not raising enough money and not getting the interest of quality individuals in Ghana to participate -- is that I may not be able to perform the role of an educator or workshop leader on such a complicated subject; especially in the midst of business students, leaders, and professionals.
No worries, by the time I start the workshops next year, I'll be prepared.
